Sleepy Hollow Ground Breaking: The Edge-on-Hudson

Nearly 20 years to the day after operations ceased at the 100-acre General Motors Assembly Plant along the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow (then known as North Tarrytown) in June of 1996, a groundbreaking ceremony took place at the site at 11:00am on May 18, 2016, for a new mixed-use development called Edge-On-Hudson, valued at nearly $1 billion.

The project, which is set to include a waterfront hotel (to be the first in Sleepy Hollow), restaurants, retail space, and 1,177 units of housing over approximately 67 acres, is the largest tract of land in development along the Hudson River in the metropolitan region. Edge-On-Hudson will also feature 16 acres of parkland, and a winding promenade along the water linking to the existing River Walk to the south and Kingsland Point Park to the north.
